How to optimize screenshots for ASO

Constant tweaking and optimizing your app store page to attract more users to your download button is hard, yes. Once you attract users to your app store page, you must use every piece of field perfectly to convert viewers to users.

App store screenshots are more important than you think.

Let’s start first with Apple iOS AppStore

How to optimize iOS AppStore Screenshots

There are 5 available screenshots slots on AppStore. You should use all of them but focus on your first screenshots which are displayed in the search results. But if you have an app preview then only your first screenshot will be displayed on search results. And not all of your screenshots has the same weight. First two of them are the most important ones. You must show what your app does and make your viewers atleast swipe to the other screenshots. Do A/B test on them and choose the highest conversion rate one as your first and second screenshots.

Drowning people with all the features with your screenshots is a bad thing to do. Just think your screenshots as a slide show and use only one feature per screenshot. Screenshot field is basicly a book cover, they searched your genre, found your books name and now they are holding your book in their hands. And if you are not Salinger (no one is!) your cover should give them a preview about your book. And users judges covers around here!

Using small sentences on the top of each screenshot to increase conversion is a simple and effective way to do it. Each screenshot should have their small sentences about what’s the feature on that screenshot.
